End of year gridding session.

What a totally amazing year!  In this final session we revisited grid-mapping in a looser and more exciting way than the sessions we did for the "Stronger Together" Bunnings exhibition we were part of back in October but with some wild new tweaks!  Have a super break guys and we'll be back at it early in Febuary 2018!

here's a couple of pics by Gabi:

and the time-lapse video was filmed by a few people as the camera was passed around...  :)

More adventures in ART-LAND

Contour drawing!  Started out as contour drawing and evolved into BLIND contour drawing...

Collage Session with focus of colour and form rather than just cutting people out of magazines and putting them in different scenes/swapping heads and limbs etc...

Gridding:  The rules of the game were simple.  You have to draw squares.  However, the dimensions of the square could be anything (relative to the grid) and you can draw OVER pre-existing squares drawn by others...

Then, you have to colour in squares, but the colouring must be SQUARE even if it means going over other squares lines...

  awesome!

The Giant Snakes and Ladders (mixed media)

And, the SUPER MURAL painting (which took 4 weeks to complete!)  This is SOOOOO BIG!

AMAZING OIL PASTEL PATTERN!

This was amazing!  I don't know if any of you have seen them or not, but back in the 60s and 70s, people used to make these crazy patterns by pitting nails around a big rectangular board and then link string back and forth.  I figured we didn't need board or string and I was right!  Instead of nails, we used fingers on our traced hands and instead of string we used crayon and instead of a board we used a big old piece of paper!  Good job team!

This week we got our hands on a new overhead projector, so we made shadow drawings of our profiles and then filled them up with things about ourselves.
